Who is SUNNY?
SUNNY, originally from Taiwan, had never thought
about building her own business when she came to the United States for her
graduate study in 1991. With a Master of
Science degree from the University of Maryland Graduate School, she had been
working for the past 17 years as a scientist in the United States.
However,
due to her younger son's progressive medical conditions, she decided to quit
her demanding and stressful corporate job from a large Indiana-based pharmaceutical company,
and stay close with her family to take care of her son, who is now a full-time power wheelchair
user.
As
expressed by one of Chinese phrases, challenges are usually together with
opportunities. She began to build her home
businesses. SUNNY Chinese Kitchen is one of her own. She is also a private Chinese instructor using Kingka products to help people learn Mandarin Chinese and provide translation (English-Chinese and Chinese-English) services.
Growing up in a traditional Chinese family,
she has been exposed to many Asian cooking and eating philosophies. With an advanced degree in science, she started
to do the research and experienced different cooking techniques to help her family
improve their health. After she started to eat yin-yang balanced whole foods and
cultivated her positive energy and thoughts, she has noticed many good changes
in her life. To name a few, she has lost weight, got better
skin condition, looked younger, gained more energy, and
felt more positive in dealing with all her challenges of being a single parent
and a full-time care taker for her second son who has a terminal neuromuscular disease.
